Event Dialga, Palkia and Giratina Released
19/9/13

Dialga Palkia Giratina In the USA, the three mascots of Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are being released at Gamestop. The only special part about these ones is that they are shiny. Dialga and Palkia have already been released and Giratina will be on the way in October. We will update the event page with Giratina when it is released. For now, the Events section has both Dialga and Palkia in it. Use PokeGen to load the .pgf into your game!

Dialga's release: 8-30-13 - 9-8-13
Palkia's release: 9-9-13 - 9-29-13
Giratina's release: 9-30-13 - 10-11-13?

Pokemon Game Modification Showroom
12/27/12

After lots of work on numerous games, a small showroom for our game hack progress has been posted. You can find it here, or in the Downloads section of this site. Most of them aren't complete, but the showcase page will be updated whenever there is a version change. This is a great opportunity to relive your childhood!

Updates + New Battling Gamemode!
2/25/12

Mewtwo Ok, I apologize for the extreme lack of updates for the site...we have been working on stuff.

Pokerealm has been working on a new, fun Pokemon gamemode called Save the Admiral. It is similar to tournaments, but with quite a few twists to keep the gamemode fun. You can read more about it here.

Several Pokemon event Wonder Cards have been released. The Event Mewtwo that knows Electro Ball is now available in the downloads section on this site. Coming soon (March 3 - April 1) is a Larvitar that knows Superpower. It is only avaiable at the VGC National Championships hosted in Europe.

Junichi Masuda, a developer of Pokemon, has made a huge announcement today on the new Pokemon versions coming out! They will be called Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2. They will feature, as commonly speculated before, Kyurem. What may not have been expected is that Kyurem can take on 2 new forms in this new game, where it is combined with Reshiram or Zekrom. The mascot photo of these new games is here. This game will be released for the Nintendo DS around June 2012.

SOPA Blackout Reaction!
1/14/12

We here at PR are not oblivious to the SOPA business. Quite frankly, we're not fans of it. That's why on January 18th, along with other sites such as Mozilla and Reddit, Pokerealm will be down as part of a SOPA strike. You can read more about it here. If you happen to be a website owner yourself, you might want to consider participating in this! A link to how you can get started is on that topic. We here don't take kindly to people taking away our Internets.

New Dream World Ability Reference Page!
1/12/12

Dream World releases are constantly updating, and it was a bit of a hassle to have the Dream World list as a command on our Pokemon Online server. After a few days of research on Dream World areas and using multiple references, I have created a Released Dream World page where you can check which Dream World Pokemon have been released. Unreleased ones are not allowed in standard battles because there is no way to get them without cheating. The good news, however, is that over half of all Pokemon have theirs released! At the time of this writing, 327 Pokemon have been released with their abilities!

Pokerealm is Back!
1/6/12

Accidentally the whole thing You probably noticed how Pokerealm was down for a few weeks. What happened was the renewing bill unexpectedly terminated and as a result, we had to manually pay the web host to get the site back up. On top of that, the domain name needed to be renewed, which added to the delay. We are back up now, and hope to redefine Pokerealm!

After listening to our forum members, Pokerealm is planned to become a site for Let's Plays (LPs) and speedrun competitions! If you are interested in this kind of thing, this is your chance to get involved with a community that does these things for fun! Nintendo and Sega games will be our focus.

In other news, our first issue of Pokerealm Zenith, a webzine with a variety of content, has been completed! It will be uploaded to the site soon, and be linked here when it is ready. Our first issue only has a handful of articles now, but we plan more for future releases. It will be a monthly-released production, usually making it on the site within the first few days of each month. If you would like to contribute to this, applications are open on the forum!

Event Victini Released!
12/8/11

Victini We are having a slow news time as we decide what we will be doing for Pokerealm's future projects and specialties. For all of December, you can download the Virtuoso Victini over Wi-Fi, in lieu of Pokemon's fourteenth movie, Victini and the Light Hero Reshiram and Victini and the Dark Hero Zekrom (it is a two-sided movie). This Victini is Level 50 and has a random nature, boasting the 4 signature moves V-Create, Fusion Bolt, Fusion Flare, and Searing Shot, and also holds a Fire Gem. Fortunately, you can soft-reset this Victini to get any IVs and nature you desire. As usual, we have uploaded the .pgf of this event Pokemon in the Events section.

NFE Analysis Writing Begins!
7/17/11

After months of NFE usage collecting and metagame-playing, we are now ready to start rewriting generation 5 NFE analyses! If you would like to contribute, you can read the guidelines posted in This forum. Requirements are strict and we have quality control who will moderate posts, so please take writing up an analysis seriously! If your analysis makes it to our site, you will be given credit.

You can also vote on which template to use. More information on that is posted in this forum poll.

Suspect Round 2 Results + Event Hydreigon & Golurk!
7/9/11

Hydreigon
Combusken
The previously-mentioned Hydreigon and Golurk event downloads are going on until September 9th! If you don't have a Japanese Pokemon Black or White game to download these Pokemon with, head over to our Event Download Section to get the .pgf of these Pokemon! You can load it into your Japanese .sav file and get the Pokemon that way! It may also even work with the English versions. Right now only Hydreigon is there, but Golurk should be up within a few days.

In NFE competitive battling news, suspect round 2 is underway. We have had two nominations: Combusken and Drought. After suspect voting, Drought will stay in OU NFE for the remainder of this month, losing to a 3-2 vote. Drought will also stay in OU NFE, tying with a 3-3 vote.

New Wi-Fi Event - Hydreigon and Golurk
6/5/11

Hydreigon Golurk Between July 8th and September 8th, there will be a shiny Hydreigon and shiny Golurk given out via Wi-Fi. Each is version-exclusive - you get Hydreigon if you're playing Pokemon Black and a shiny Golurk if you are playing Pokemon White. The bad news is you must have a Japanese Black or White version to do this. The good news is this site will have the Wonder Cards downloadable as soon as they come out. This download is to commemorate the new Pokemon movie that will be released in Japan.

New Statistics Page
5/21/11

Suspect nomination is now open! To help with tiering of NFE, we have used the statistics function of our server to get ranks for the Pokemon used in OU NFE. On the last day of every month, we will update this statistics page, and will use this page to determine the OU NFE tier when enough time has passed. The page can be found on this page, but a link to it will stay here on the homepage for easy access.

NFE Reborn!
5/17/11

Chansey It's been quite a while with preparations, but the new generation 5 NFE metagame is ready to be worked on! Our forum how has a dedicated section exclusively for NFE development purposes, and we have reset our tiers so that there are no Ubers. The only restriction for the metagame for now will be the Eviolite, which has already been deemed unfit for NFE. Come help us on our Pokemon Online server to develop! You can also post in the NFE discussion forum once you are set high enough on the NFE ladder.

Eviolite Rebanned!
5/2/11

eviolite After working with the Eviolite NFE metagame for over a month, we have concluded that NFE as a metagame benefits more without the Eviolite. As a consequence, the existing generation 5 NFE strategies that were previously posted on the site may be reposted after discussion of a more strict quality control procedure. However, the Eviolite will be allowed in Uber NFE because of the nature of this "tier".

If we do decide to release the old strategy pages, updated statistics of every covered Pokemon can be expected at the end of this month.

Clamperl set to Uber NFE!
4/12/11

eviolite We are working on the NFE metagame, and have decided that Clamperl is set to be uber. With DeepSeaTooth and Shell Smash, it gives OU NFE an incredibly unfair foe to take down. The current suspects now are Speed Boost Combusken, Electabuzz and Croconaw. You can help with suspect testing on our forum.

Generation 5 NFE Uber Tier Created!
4/8/11

The new Eviolite metagame has taken off! After suspect testing, we have created a list of current Uber Pokemon for generation 5! All other Pokemon are put into OU for now until we start working on tier placements there. Unfortunately, because of this new Eviolite metagame, all the strategies for OU that were there have been unlinked because they no longer apply to what generation 5 NFE will become. However, this is a new beginning and if it doesn't work, it isn't something that will be on this site. You can still help to make Eviolite-considered strategies in our community, however.

Updated OU NFE Pages
4/1/11

This is not an April Fool's joke. All OU NFE pages have been updated to include new usage for the usage results of March! In addition, you can expect many more move pages to come within the next few weeks. Strategy pages will not be continued, however, as a new Eviolite metagame is being formed. Eventually the pages that we have now will be reflected for the Eviolite metagame.

You can help us with suspect testing by joining our Pokemon Online server or posting in the suspect forum on our forum site. A link can be found in the navigation bar.

The current suspects are Lampent, Dusclops, Togetic, Wynaut, Porygon2 and Clamperl. As of now, Chansey and Scyther are considered Uber.

Eviolite Testing - A New Metagame!
3/2/11

eviolite After a lot of talk and consideration on what to do with NFE for generation 5, we have concluded that the Eviolite will be used to make a completely new NFE metagame! This metagame will hopefully be much more viable, introducing stall and much higher defenses to the NFE metagame, something that before was not possible. At this time, Chansey was deemed Uber because of its extreme capabilities when equipped with the eviolite, but all other Pokemon can be used in this newly-developing metagame.

The strategy pages that are up now will continue to be there, but as this new metagame develops, tiers and existing pages will radically change.

Updates - Competitive Battling & New Avatars!
3/26/11

Excadrill
Munchlax
I have done a handful of updates to the site lately. If you go to our new avatars section, you will find that it's much more organized. It is split into Pokemon generations as categories, and a whole bunch of generation 5 avatars have been added!

A bit more notably, many NFE Pokemon are being tested for usage in the OU NFE metagame. A large update to the standard OU tier will be coming too, based on usage stats on our Pokemon Online server. Munchlax is now suspect and being discussed about in our forum, while the statistics that we found on our server hint many new changes to the standard OU tier. Shadow Tag Shandera is one of the larger controversies at the moment.

Lampent moved to Uber!
2/25/11

Lampent A lot of NFE testing is going on at our forum. One of the decisions that has been made was to send only Shadow Tag Lampent to the Uber tier. With Shadow Tag, a core concept of battling, switching out, is essentially nullified. Coupled with other reasons, Lampent with Shadow Tag has been moved to NFE Ubers by a vote of 3-1.

Zoroark Event!
2/16/11

Magneton Between 2/15/11 and 3/14/11, you can get a Quirky (oh boy!) Zoroark via Wi-Fi connection. This amazing Pokemon nature is static on this Zoroark, so soft resetting for a new Nature will not work. This Zoroark will be in a Cherish Ball, is not holding an item, and knows the attacks Agility, Embargo, Punishment, and an event-exclusive move, Bark Out. The availability is nowhere near over, but regardless, we have added this event to our events section.

Magneton moved to OU NFE!
2/16/11

Magneton After much testing against the OU NFE tier, it has been determined that Magneton was not broken in the OU NFE metagame, and in generation 5 tiers, has been moved to OU NFE. Further testing will be done to determine if it is worthy of demotion in generation 4. You can discuss this new change of tiers in the forum if you wish.

Updates, including Ash's Scraggy!
1/25/11

ash's scraggy Ash's Scraggy is now available on Wi-Fi if you have Pokemon Black and White, but it is also on our event downloads page for now. This Zuruggu is still available until February 10th. It knows Headbutt, Leer, Hi Jump Kick, and Low Kick, is a male, has a static Adamant (yipee!) and is held in a Cherish Ball. Its OT is サトシ (Satoshi), and the ID is 01281. Pokemon Centers in Japan are now having a Scraggy festival (like they did with Croagunk a few years back) to go with the event.

I have been very busy with life and such, so unfortunately I cannot update the homepage every day. I will however release a few future events to keep things new. Between March 6th, 2011 and April 10th, 2011, players in the United States will be able to download the Liberty Pass via Wi-Fi to capture Victini in their games. I am not sure if the Japanese one that Pokerealm has now will work the same as this upcoming one, but I will be sure to upload it anyway just in case!

It has come to my attention that the English names for all the Black and White Pokemon have been released, so I will be updating all the generation 5 pages to reflect this.

UU NFE Tier Revolutionization!
1/25/11

After testing, damage calculations and battle scenarios, UU NFE has had many Pokemon demoted to the Basic tier. There are too many to put here, so check the tiers out when you get a chance! Some of the Pokemon include Nincada, Surskit, Mime Jr. and Sandshrew. This makes the Basic NFE tier much more playable!

Pokerealm Damage Calc Beta!
1/5/11

Our online damage calculator implements the basic damage formula, and is now being tested and fixed! In about a week or so, it should be completed, and hopefully have batch damage calculations supported, although that could be a stretch to say. I have created a new Pokemon Online theme that you can use now. It features Pokemon Emerald, and can be found in the downloads section.

General Pokemon news is pretty slow lately. Between February 27th and March 7th, you can pick up an event Celebi from Wi-Fi to any of your generation 4 games, although you may have already known this since it was released about a week ago. Like all events so far, it can be transferred to Pokemon Black or White in the Transfer Machine and unlock something. This Celebi unlocks Zorua which you would be able to pick up from Castelia Town.

In terms of competitive battling, I have added a Fail Moveset of the Day section to the site which brings a bit of comedy to competitive battling, where extremely unviable Pokemon sets will be posted daily. We will have much more competitive battling sets being posted once we have the batch damage calculator working - I have quite a few plans for that section in terms of thorough analysis.

Damage Calculator v1 now Released!
1/3/11

For all of you Macintosh or generation 5 competitive battlers, this is big news! Our online generation 5 damage calculator is finally (for the most part) finished! The only feature it doesn't have yet is if an attack will KO when factoring in Stealth Rock (this will be implemented soon). Please report any bugs or bad calcs you get to Cirrus via the contact page! The calculator also supports Encourage's boost! It can be found here.

Updates
1/2/11

No witty pictures this time. In terms of what has been going on, we have finally been able to impelement Pokemon Online simulator skins! If you're tired of the same old look, take a gander of the few skins that we now have! We used to have these, but it was almost impossible to keep up with the client updates, so they kept dying on us. If you're an artist that is interested in doing something like this, we can put them live on this site, where you will be given full credit for them.

I have rearranged the downloads section in terms of web directories to make it more organized, although this doesn't impact its interface any other than possibly a few dead links.

I realize that the theme for this website is painfully old. We are working on a completely new interface for the entire site, including the Pokemon strategies section, which will take some time to completely finish. I will try to at least get a new banner. I also wanna get the archives page for front-page news sorted out; I realize it's unorganized right now.

The event downloads section now has all 3 possible eggs (Yanappu, Mamepato and Kibago). You'll need the newest version of Pokemon Black and White Pokesav to use them, which is linked on the event download page.

Legendary Dogs Released at Gamestop!
12/31/10

Gamestop Raikou
Gamestop Entei
Gamestop Suicune
I wish everyone a happy new year! Introducing us to 2012 in the Pokemon world is a release of the 3 legendary dogs, which will be released at most local Gamestop game stores as a wireless mystery gift. These are only available in your Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver games!

  • The shiny Raikou will be the first to be released, available from January 3rd to January 9th. It will have Weather Ball as one of its attacks, a previously unavailable move. This is a welcomed new attack to Raikou for new weather teams!
  • A shiny Entei will be available from January 17th to January 23rd, and will have Flare Blitz, a very viable attack on Entei, possibly moving it up a tier.
  • Suicune can be attained between January 31st and February 6th, and will have Sheer Cold as its new attack, which is useless in standard battling.
All of these Pokemon also come with Extremespeed, benefiting Entei very much. They will all be in a Cherish Ball upon obtaining, and will have a Classic Ribbon, like most distributed Wi-Fi gifts.

What's special about these Pokemon (other than their new moves) is that they can be sent to your Pokemon Black or White game, unlocking a Zoroark side event! Speaking of Pokemon Wi-Fi events, you can now get a mystery egg over Wi-Fi that will have either a Mamepato, Yanappu or Kibago in it! They are said to have a 'good' nature, and will all have 31 in one of their IVs, depending on the Pokemon. I will be updating the downloads section with these three shortly, and will do my best to get the 3 legendary dogs.

English Ash's Pikachu Release!
12/25/10

Pikachu Hiyappu Yanappu and Boappu's American names in a battle Merry Christmas to everybody! The homepage updates are really slow mainly because the main webmaster is away for a Christmas vacation, so I get to update things. :)

Ash's Pikachu will have a US release on Wi-Fi between January 30, 2011 and February 5, 2011. It's a small window of time but it'll be there! It will have the same moves as the Japanese one, will have a Light Ball and will have a Classic Ribbon. We already have the Japanese one in our event download page, but for kicks, we're gonna put this one there too.

There have been stories of the elemental monkeys in generation 5 having English names, but these haven't been confirmed yet, so I will not release this news yet. A screenshot is to the right, however. Make what you want of it. I have tried to sharpen it to make it easier to see, but it's still pretty hard to make out the names.

We should have the damage calculator up by the end of the year. On the forum we have many generation 5 OU sets, but none have made it to the actual site yet because they need lots of calculations; we don't put sets on Pokerealm until they are completely optimized and completely analyzed.

Update - We have had 2 new NFE placements for Pokemon Black and White. Vigoroth, who used to be Uber, is now being placed in OU due to its capabilities. It will be given a promotion if it starts breaking OU NFE (although this probably won't happen). Janobii has also been moved to OU because of its amazing ability with Leaf Storm and Perversity.

(Almost) Daily Update
12/15/10

  • I have fixed numerous URL errors on the site that I hope you didn't find.
  • After some maintenance, I have restored the Black and White Animated Sprites page with a good number of animated Pokemon sprites. Many are still missing, but hopefully the ones that are there will meet your needs for now. As I upload new sprites, the script on the page will automatically update itself.

Updates
12/12/10

First off, I wish everyone a merry Christmas.

I realize I've been very slow on homepage updates. I will try to change this by making the homepage more up-to-date on every change I make to the site.
  • I have created a standard OU Speed tier page to aid in creating generation 5 Pokemon teams! This will also help us with standard Pokemon sets, which we will be starting.
  • I have updated The Sprite Center with animated Pokemon icons of all the 1-493 Pokemon. I am working on finding generation 5 ones.
  • I have fixed a few dead links that I hope you never found. ;)
  • The search bar should work for the most part now. The server transition was not friendly to our site configuration, and it bombed out the search. The only problem now is that the results page looks messed up. I will be working on this.

Pokerealm is Moving!
12/7/10

The site has reached the maximum amount of disk space that can be run on the webhost that we were on before, so Pokerealm is now moving to a new server where the space is completely (or so they say) infinite! I knew we would need to do this because eventually the site would get too large. Please excuse the appearance of the site as we move to a new server and configure stuff. I will restore the site as soon as possible.

New 7-Tier NFE Organization!
12/2/10

After some discussion from our competitive battlers, we have decided to further split up the NFE tiers from 5 divisions (Uber, OU, BL, UU and NU) to a total of 7. The two new tiers will be known as Basic (in essence a BL tier for UU and NU), and Bottom tier for Pokemon whose abilities are trumped even in the NU tier. The Basic tier for generation 5 has been published, and more tier updates will be posted as we make them.

In other news, we have updated our sprite download page to include trainer sprites and normal / shiny Black & White sprites. Because of this, we have renamed it the Sprites Center to make the pages more manageable.

From testing, a few Pokemon may be getting demoted and promoted for our standard tier lists. Currently in the suspect position are Shibirudon, Wynaut, Aianto and Emburoh.

NFE Tier Changes
11/18/10

The following tier changes have taken effect.
  • Geodude has been moved to NU (D&P / B&W).
  • Koaruhii has been moved from UU to NU (B&W).
  • Mudkip has been moved from UU to NU (B&W).
  • Skitty has been moved from UU to NU (D&P / B&W).
  • Slugma has been moved from UU to NU (D&P / B&W).
  • Wooper has been moved from UU to NU (D&P / B&W).
  • Bronzor has been moved from OU to BL (D&P / B&W).
  • Jiheddo has been moved from OU to BL (B&W).
  • Shibibiiru has been moved from OU to BL (B&W).
After testing periods, these Pokemon were moved to the appropriate tiers in consideration of their abilities.
If you have teams that include these Pokemon, it is advisable to ensure that the team is for the corresponding tier.

Rebuttals against these changes are welcome in the forums.

Happy Birthday, Pokerealm!
11/11/10

On November 11, 2008, the forums of this website were created! There are lots of events going on on the forum, including tournaments, giveaways, art contests and even a scavenger hunt! There are 6 items scattered around this website and the forum, and if you can find them (you must be registered on the forum), you'll get a nice prize!

Event Mew Wi-Fi Event to End!
10/30/10

Mew You missed the Wi-Fi Mew event, didn't you? You know, the Fall 2010 Mew that was released on Wi-Fi? If you did, its .pgt and .pcd files have just been added in the downloads section for you to download and use! I also realize that there's no event editor in Pokemon HGSS's version of Pokesav, but fortunately, you can use Pokesav Platinum to get the Mew, and simply trade it to your HeartGold, SoulSilver, or even Black or White!

NFE Tier Changes
10/29/10

The following tier changes have taken effect.
  • Combusken with Speed Boost has been moved to Uber (B&W).
  • Gear has been moved from NU to UU (B&W).
  • Clamperl has been moved from OU to Uber (B&W).
  • Pineco has been moved from UU to NU (B&W).
  • Budew has been moved from UU to NU (D&P / B&W).
  • Zuruggu has been moved from UU to BL (B&W).
  • Monmen has been moved from UU to BL (B&W).
  • Tsutaja has been moved from NU to UU (B&W).
  • Cranidos has been moved from OU to BL (D&P / B&W).
After testing periods, these Pokemon were moved to the appropriate tiers in consideration of their abilities.
If you have teams that include these Pokemon, it is advisable to ensure that the team is for the corresponding tier.

Rebuttals against these changes are welcome in the forums.

Evolution Stone IS Banned!
10/19/10

Evolution Stone For all of you generation 5 NFE battlers! Please note that the new item, Evolution Stone, is BANNED from standard NFE play. It is allowed in Uber NFE, however. The Evolution Stone is a new item in Black and White that raises the Defense and Special Defense of any non-evolved Pokemon. This, as you can probably guess, would cause a lot of broken wall sets, and would overall make the NFE metagame much less enjoyable.

New Wi-Fi Event Giveaway - Kumasyun!
10/14/10

Kumasyun Between October 22nd and November 29th, players will be able to download a Wonder Card for Kumasyun. The main reason for this is because Kumasyun is mainly only found in the Winter in Pokemon Black and White, although it can still be found year round. I will try my best to get a downloadable Wonder Card for this Pokemon and put it in the Downloads section, but I cannot promise this, unfortunately. No special moves will be given to the little ice bear, either, which is sad.

NFE Tier Changes
10/5/10

The following tier changes have taken effect.
  • Wartortle has been moved to BL.
  • Snover has been moved to UU.
  • Combusken has been moved to OU (Black & White tiers only).
After testing periods, these Pokemon were moved to the appropriate tiers in consideration of their abilities.
If you have teams that include these Pokemon, it is advisable to ensure that the team is for the corresponding tier.

Rebuttals against these changes are welcome in the forums.

Lots of Black and White Updates!
9/29/10

There has been quite a few updates with Pokerealm on Black and White information. The YouTube Playthrough is expanding, we have preliminary NFE tier pages, and (a risky move to an extent) sprite pages, with both shiny and normal Pokemon! After seeing many sites with the images up, and the overall idea of using sprites as fair use, I have decided to upload them, although I may have to take them down at a moment's notice.

We still have a lot of work to do for the new generation 5 metagame! You can help us out by discussing tier placements here.

Black and White Images Removed
9/18/10

Quoted from another site:

We just got a letter from Nintendo (edited to remove personal info obviously) asking to take down all of our Black and White images or bad stuff will happen. I called the lawyer who sent the letter and he said he'll be making the rounds on other Pokemon sites as well and that they're doing an investigation

In lieu of this warning from another site, I have decided to take down ALL generation 5 pictures that have been added here as updates. It is a very unfortunate situation, but we cannot beat the law.

But that's the bad news. The good news is that Pokerealm is now doing a full Pokemon Black playthrough on YouTube, and will be updating the main site with all the new abilities that every Pokemon gets. It is an extremely long list, and will revolutionize the NFE metagame, as well as the standard metagame. This update will take quite a while, so please bear with us.

More New Pokemon! Tier Discussion Forum!
9/16/10

There has been a HUGE generation 5 Pokemon update, with the majority of Pokemon revealed! There will be a new area on the forums where you can help decide the new Pokerealm tiers that will have all the new Pokemon on them! If you're looking to contribute to a meaningful cause and help the website out, there is no better opportunity than right now! New Pokemon Strategy Layout!
9/12/10

I realize that it has been a looong time coming, but all the strategy pages and move pages for the NFE section of the site now have new layouts! In addition, the unneeded EVs in many of the strategy pages have been removed, and some pages have been completely revamped! There are now sprite representations that go with the Team Options and Counters section, and the sprites are also clickable, taking you directly to the Pokemon's strategy page! This will only work on Pokemon on the site who actually have strategy pages so far. Otherwise, just the sprite is shown.

Generation 5 Starter Evolutions!
9/4/10

This news has been out for a few days now, but I haven't posted it until now since this data wasn't fully confirmed. However there has been (for the most part) confirmation on the existence of these new Pokemon, and so I have decided to post them. They were found on a Syberian 2ch forum, which is basically a Japanese-based forum where generation 5 leaks have been released in the past. These Pokemon's names have not been released yet.

The Final Release!
9/3/10

It's been a long wait, but we have an 'official' release date of Pokemon Black and White! The Japanese version of both games, according to The Japanese Pokemon website, Pokemon Black and White are to hit shelves on September 18th, 2010! This will be a huge transformation in Pokemon, introducing many new characters and battle aspects. With this new news, I have made a countdown timer on this page to add a bit of anticipation to the event. When this game is released, Pokerealm will be hosting a NFE playthrough on the Official YouTube Channel, where all the new Pokemon and video game plots will be played, all using only NFEs in the player's party! Don't forget to check it out when it gets released!

New Generation 5 Pokemon!
8/21/10

A new Pokemon was revealed on Pokemon Sunday a while ago, named Yanappu. It a Grass-type monkey whose ability is Gluttony. It has a new ability called Acrobat. Acrobat doubles in power if the foe has no held item, and allows a Pokemon in triple battles to hit a Pokemon on the far side that is opposite of it.

Black and White News, Manaphy Event
8/16/10

I apologize for the slow news update. Life and other work for the site has kept me really busy.

All you lucky dogs who managed to get their greasy, Pokemon-loving hands on a Japanese version of Diamond, Pearl, and/or Platinum are in for a treat. From August 13th 2010 to September 12th 2010, you can connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi to get a free Manaphy! For those of you who aren't so go-getting, the .pcd and .pgt files are in the event downloads section on here!
The Manaphy will be level 50 in a Cherish Ball knowing the moves Aqua Ring, Water Pulse, Water Sport, and Heart Swap. It will hold a Lansat Berry and will be Impish nature.

Imagine. A world of dreams. Where Pokemon run free for you to befriend to make them appear in Isshu or just catch them in this world. Where you can grow berries, which are unable to grow in the Isshu region. Where you can obtain items and trade them with friends. Where you can even have your own dainty, little house on a small, floating island. This world exists. It's called the Dream World.
How does one gain access to the Dream World? Well, you have to go to Mokoma (English name unknown at the time of this artcle)'s house and sleep in the bed that is there. You then use the Dream Smoke obtained from Musharna(English name unknown at the time of this artcle) to sync up the game to your Pokemon Global Link account.

Catching Pokemon
While you're walking around in the Dream World, you'll occasionally encounter many varieties of Pokemon. These Pokemon are not found within the Isshu region, since they are native to the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions. Befriending the Pokemon will allow you to catch them in a certain area of Isshu, but in the Dream World, they are much easier to catch.

These Pokemon will have different abilities than the Pokemon you transfer from other games, such as Vaporeon having Hydration and Glaceon with Ice Body.

So far, ten Pokemon have been recorded to be available for capture through special events: All of Eevee's evolutions and the Kanto starters. The Eeveelutions are available once you complete Daisuki Club's mini-game, the Pokemon Labyrinth, and you sync your Global Link account to your Daisuki Club account. To obtain the Kanto starters, you must have one of the three passwords from the book Pokemon Peer and enter them into Global Link.

Berry Growing
Let's hope you have a green thumb. In Isshu, berries are unable to grow, so the only way to grow them is to grow them via the Dream World. It's not that hard and is very much the same as growing berries in the other games. Once the berries are done growing, you can send them back to your game.

Collecting and Trading Items
In the Dream World, there are various games you can play to collect items. You will also find shelves in which you can put your items on to trade with friends. At any point within the game, you can resync and go back to the specific area of Isshu to collect any items you have sent over. Your House
In the Dream World, upon a floating island, is a house. Not an abandoned house, as it looks new and oddly placed. You decide to make it your own. You can use any decorations you want. You can also sync your house up to your friends' houses so that your Pokemon to play with each other. You have to allow your friends access to the items you put on your shelf, though.

Enigma Stone Event Announced!
7/28/10

Latias after obtaining the Enigma Stone Between July 31st and August 22nd, players will be able to download the Enigma Stone, via Wi-Fi, to their Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver game. This item will activate the Latios/Latias event, depending on which game you're playing. By bringing the stone to Pewter City, you can obtain a Soul Dew, and meet Latias (in SoulSilver) or Latios (in HeartGold) just outside of the museum. Of course, Pokerealm will have this item added to the event downloads section when it comes out, although for now it's just easier to download it.

Update 7/31-The .pcd file is available for download in the Event Pokemon section!

New Pokemon - Victini!
7/25/10

A new legendary Pokemon, Victini, was revealed in today's episode of Pokemon Sunday. This Pokemon will be available to Pokemon Black and White players via the use of a Liberty Ticket, which will be released via Wi-Fi between September 18th and October 18th.

Pokerealm Tiers!
7/24/10

As well as NFE tiers, the site is now implementing standard Pokemon tiers! They are relatively the same as most people are used to, but with a rather large change - Salamence is OU! These tiers will be used on the Pokemon Online server that Pokerealm has, and can be accessed from the General section to the left of this message. A few of them are still being worked on, so please be patient.

7/20/10

Between July 24 and August 8th, according to the Japanese Pokemon website, there will be a Wi-Fi event going on for Japanese players that will open up a new Pokewalker route, possibly named "Hungry for Friendship". Generation 5 Pokemon Information
7/13/10

  • Kibago, the tusked Pokemon that was shown yesterday, has the abilities Rivalry and Mold Breaker. It is a pure Dragon-type Pokemon, and gets a new move called Double Chop, which attacks twice in one turn.
  • Komori, the bat-like Pokemon that was revealed, has the abilities of Unaware and Klutz. It is a Psychic/Flying-type Pokemon, and gets a new move called Heart Stamp, which makes the opponent flinch
  • Thirdly is Musharna, the new evolution of Munna. It is classified as a Trance Pokemon, and has the abilities Forewarn and Synchronize, just like Munna itself. They give off something called Dream Smoke that has something to do with Global Link connectivity.
  • Gochiruzeru, a new Pokemon, is classified as the Celestial Body Pokemon, and has the ability Frisk. It is a Psychic-type, and has a new attack named Magic Room, which negates the use of items for both you and your opponent for 5 turns.
  • Minezumi, the squirrel-like Pokemon shown yesterday, is classified as the Lookout Pokemon. It has the ability Run Away and Keen Eye, and is a Normal-type. It has a new attack called You First, which allows the foe to attack before Minezumi.
  • Finally, Rankurusu is classified as the Amplification Pokemon. It has the ability Dust Proof, which disallows damage from weather effects. It is a Psychic-type.
  • In triple battles, you now have the option to switch positions with each Pokemon that is in battle. This is useful to possibly nullify a foe's attack, and brings a much higher prediction consideration in battles.

  • Two new Pokemon, Gochiruzeru and Rankurusu, are version-exclusive Pokemon.
  • Black City and White Forest are confirmed to be in the same spots in each of the new games.
  • The new C Gear that is introduced in these games has the ability to utilize infared, Wi-Fi and wireless. With infared, players can now quickly trade and battle with each other, and FC can be automatically shared through it.

More New Pokemon!
7/11/10

As expected, CoroCoro has revealed the bird Pokemon that was released a few days ago. Its name is Wooguru, and is classifed as the Valor Pokemon. It is a Normal/Flying type, and has two abilities, being Keen Eye and Encourage, which Hihidaruma also gets. It has a new attacked named Free Fall, which has the user grab the foe and take them into the air on the first turn, and dropping them to the ground on the second. It is not known how this affects the target, however.

Munna's evolution has been revealed. Its name is Musharana. To the right is another picture of two new Pokemon, Kibago (the tusked Pokemon at the very top) and Minezumi, who was revealed a few days ago. Koromori, the bird Pokemon that was revealed a few weeks ago, is confirmed to be a standard Normal/Flying-type Pokemon.

In addition, it is confirmed that the main character in the Pokemon games has two childhood friends, possibly rivals. One's name is Beru and the male is Cheren. They are also shown to the right.

One last released piece of information - it is confirmed that there are version-exclusive areas in Pokemon Black and White. White Forest can only be found in Pokemon White, while Black City is exclusive to Pokemon Black.

More New Pokemon!
7/10/10

Even more new Pokemon being revealed! This time, it's a bird-looking Pokemon that was shown on Pokemon Sunday. The Pokemon itself is scheduled to be revealed in the next upcoming episode, but CoroCoro will likely give details on it before then. Check back soon for more info. There's a new beaver-looking Pokemon that is revealed on the second screenshot to the right, paired with a Pokemon that was already announced. It is believed to be named Minezume, although its English name isn't determined yet, of course.

Another big part of news! Starting July 15, and concluding on August 10th, Nintendo is releasing Ash's Pikachu as a Wi-Fi gift! Pokerealm will have this Wonder Card released as soon as Pikachu itself is released. The Pikachu will be at Lv. 50, and will know Volt Tackle, Iron Tail, Thunderbolt and Quick Attack. It will possibly have a static Naughty Nature, and will be holding a Light Ball.

Koromori Announced!
6/21/10

This was out for a little while, but I didn't post it mainly because none of it was officially confirmed. However, from the beta art picture that Nintendo had (depicted to the right), one of the characters there, Kokomori, was shown in gameplay during a Japanese Pokemon show. This suggests that the remaining characters in the beta art picture are also new Pokemon that will be released in Pokemon Black and White. A few of the beta art characters are likely to be evolutions of the starter Pokemon that you can obtain in the new games, including the two to the far right.

Nintendo 3DS Announced!
7/5/10

Nintendo 3DS Something important that we forgot to mention on Pokerealm. The Nintendo 3DS was announced at the E3 Conference. The Nintendo 3DS is an all new 8th Generation game console. The Nintendo 3DS comes with an all new design, with relocation of the power button, as well as the start and select buttons. It also comes with a control stick, called the "slide pad". The 3DS also comes with 3D technology without the need of glasses, and can take 3D pictures. The 3D picture is controlled by a slider at the side of the top screen. It will be released in 3 colors, Blue, Red and Black, and will be in Japan before 2011. No word yet on European, or North American dates.

Credit goes to Rok for this update.

Even More Generation 5 Pokemon!
6/21/10

Quite a bit of new information was revealed about Generation 5, including more new Pokemon! The green-looking Pokemon in the first picture to the far right is named Ononokusu, and is listed as a Manthis-like Pokemon. The one next to it is called Desukan, which has a huge claw on its tail. In the second picture, the green Pokemon is named Desukan, the middle is named Denchura, and the one on the far right is named Moguryu. In addition, it seems there will be triple battles debuted in Pokemon Black and White. In addition, two new attacks, Grass Mixer and Drill Liner will be debuted in Generation 5. A new option in battle called Shooter is confirmed, but no real information on it is given out yet.

Goon's Scizor up for Download!
6/21/10

Goon's Scizor There is now an event going on in Japan where players can get a Japanese Scizor in characterization of Goon's Scizor in the upcoming Pokemon Movie Phantom Champion Zoroark. The Scizor is in a Cherish Ball, and knows X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Iron Defense and Agility, and is holding a Starf Berry. Normally this kind of Scizor is impossible to obtain until its release in the United States (assuming such an event even takes place), unless you had some really good Japanese connections. But right now, you can download it in the Event Pokemon Download section of Pokerealm! It should work just fine with English versions of Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver! If they don't, please contact me on this. Unfortunately for competitive battlers, this Scizor gets the Swarm ability. Too bad....

Even More Generation 5 Information!
6/15/10

A whole bunch of new stuff has been revealed! There wasn't much of a pic to represent all this by, per se, so I decided to just add some new in-game screenshots to this post.

In the new games, there's a new machine called the Pokemon Transfer Machine which seems to be taking the place of Pal Park in that you can transfer Pokemon (one at a time) from a generation 4 game to Pokemon Black or White.

A small new feature in the game shows a tab during a battle which shows what weather effect is currently active, which can help if you're for some reason not paying attention to the game screen. :P

The new ability that Hihidaruma has, Encourage, seems to boost the power of the Pokemon's moves at the cost of the move's effect being nullified. This can be very useful in battle. The attack Night Burst, learned by Zoroark upon encountering it, lowers the foe's accuracy as a secondary effect.

The official Japanese Pokemon website has announced that when the two games are released, there will be a website that you can upload your save file to, and play your Pokemon Black or White game online! Restrictions to playing are still unknown, and it hasn't been confirmed if you can download this file or not.

New Generation 5 Pokemon Revealed!
6/11/10

A LOT of new information for Generation 5 has been revealed, most notably several new Pokemon that will be introduced in the game. Click the spoiler to the right to view them.

There's a new professor named Dr. Araragi, who has a Chiramii, one of the Pokemon shown in the spoiler.

In order for a player to get Zorua in their Pokemon Black or White, they must transfer the upcoming event Celebi, which will be released in mid July, to their Pokemon Black or White game. The Zorua will know Leer, Scratch, Pursuit and Fake Tears, and will be at level 10. When one gets Zoroark, it will first know Fury Swipes, Faint Attack, Scary Face, and a new attack called Night Burst. Details on the attack were not released.

Reshiram and Zekrom's types and details were revealed. Reshiram is a Dragon / Fire type, and is classified as the White Yang Pokemon. It is 3.2m and 330kg. It has the a new ability called Turboblaze. Zekrom is an Dragon / Electric type, and is classified as the Black Yin Pokemon. It is 2.9m and 345kg. It has a new ability called Terra Voltage. Predictions may be correct in that both of these Pokemon represent good and evil because of their new classifications.
Generation 5 Mascots Revealed!
5/28/10

Two new generation 5 Pokemon have been revealed! Reshiram (the left Pokemon) and Zekrom (the right one) will be released in Pokemon Black and White, and are the games' main mascots. Ironically, it seems that Reshiram, the white monster, is only available in Pokemon Black, while the black Pokemon is only available in Pokemon White. It appears that both Pokemon have some kind of deep connection with the Isshu region.

Update 5/30-It has been confirmed that both of these new legendaries are part Dragon-type. Their secondary type, if one at all, is still unknown. Differences in both Pokemon Black and White are also said to be more than just simply Pokemon species that are obtainable.

Generation 5 Info Updates
5/15/10

A few new details about Pokemon Black and White have been released. It has been confirmed that the game takes place in a region named "Isshu", and one of the cities in this region is named "Hiun City".

Zoroark's ability, Illusion, has been confirmed. It seems Zoroark has the ability to change into other Pokemon, but will always retain its Dark element. In battle, Pokemon seem to move more than they did in previous versions, both while attacking and when receiving damage. The in-game camera also moves and zooms in on some types of in-battle events, such as when a Pokemon is about to be knocked out.

Pictures of the new in-game protagonists were also released. It seems that the new characters, possibly along with other in-game trainers, have been raised in age.

In addition, a trailer of the upcoming (13th) Pokemon movie, Phantom Ruler: Zoroark, and is scheduled to be released July 10th in Japan. A short trailer of the movie can be found here. Apparently, Team Rocket is still after Pikachu, and now have a Yanmega-themed hot-air balloon.

Further details are scarce, and this post will be updated as soon as more information is revealed, which on the official Pokemon Japanese website should be around April 15th-ish.

You can see a small introductory video of these new versions here:

Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokemon have not had their sprites changed, and so are not displayed on the page. We have also substituted all the NFE sprites that are on the strategy pages on this site into the new HeartGold and SoulSilver ones!

In the near future, Cirrus will also be uploading a full walkthrough of Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver, and uploading it to YouTube, where only NFE Pokemon will be used throughout the game, assuming all goes as planned. Check it out sometime!

Munchlax

Munchlax is now Uber!
12/21/09

After a few weeks of damage calculation and testing, Munchlax has been
moved to the Uber NFE tier. It was concluded that its high base stats, access to overpowering
STAB attacks, and access to Stockpile and Rest, made it far too easy to wall and take on the
majority of the OU tier, and as a result, was moved.

More Updates
12/14/10

I wasn't lying about more frequent homepage posts.
  • The NFE Bottom tier has been re-arranged. Azurill, Sentret, Chobomaki, Gochimu and Tamagetake have been moved here in an attempt to balance out the bottom tier. We have a handful of bottom tier strategies waiting to be put up on the site (some parts of them must be added).
  • The web-based damage calculator that supports generation 5 is nearly complete. The interface for it is done, but lots of coding must be finished up. We expect it to be publicly usable by the end of the year.
